A group from AOC joined in MADD (Make A Difference Day) in which volunteers worked on community projects in The Netherlands. AOC sponsored the paint (and
of course the attractive bodywarmers) for the project and they gave up their free time for the day.
The group of 20 from AOC worked with Kommunika Neighboorhood Center in Scheveningen (part of the Hague). It is a small, independent non-profit community center which offers facilities and various activities to the local children and teenagers. Through their efforts its garden and playground got a much needed facelift. This involved: Laying new grass in the playground area.
Painting the walls surrounding the garden with
basic colors (background) so the kids can later
paint their own murals.
Painting benches, swing and storage hut.
