3rd. Ukaramcons Reunion – 31st July, 2010.
Aramco Overseas Company UK Ltd launched the ‘ALAELA’ Magazine at the 3rd Ukaramcons Reunion – Edinburgh 2010. At the beginning of the evening, just before dinner, I introduced Kimberly Johans (Editor) of the magazine who informed everyone that the magazine had now been printed and everyone attending would receive a copy along with their Commemorative Gift
The magazine was displayed and thanks was given to all those who contributed - many of whom were at the Reunion. A special mention was given to the Hosts, my wife, Eileen & myself, Lynne Hampson, Penny Walker and Colin Knight who helped to critique the pre-production of the magazine during various stages of development.
In November 2009, at the conception of the magazine and as Administrator of Ukaramcons, my wife and I were invited to a meeting in London to give our insight into the content of the magazine. Over the following months many people were contacted through the Ukaramcons website, who in turn sent in articles and photos for consideration. As the magazine began to take shape Lynne, Penny and Colin became involved.
The magazine is a journal of travel and past experiences of Aramco Employees from all over Europe and is produced for Annuitants, families and friends of Saudi Aramco and Aramco Overseas Company (AOC) as well as its associated companies by AOC B.V. The introduction covers a letter from Ahmed M. Alzayyat - Managing Director, Company News, Montages, and New Beginnings. It features travel journals and articles of past experiences of Aramco Employees from all over Europe and ends with a memoriam section where old friends can be remembered.
With the first issue printed and distributed it is imperative for more people to get involved by sending in their photos and stories for future issues. Either send them direct to Kimberly Johans, The Editor, Alaela, Aramco Overseas Company Uk Ltd, Level 26, Centre Point,103 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1DD or email them to www.uk-aramcons@ukaramcons.co.uk
Please note that all photographs need to be of high resolution for reproduction in the magazine.
AOC have shown great initiative and vision in producing the Alaela Magazine and now it needs your support to make it a huge success.
